Thank to everyone who joined us this morning at the Bali Memorial in Peryman Square for our memorial service to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Bali Bombings, and the terrible loss of the 202 souls who were killed, including 88 Australians and seven young women from the Sutherland Shire.
Thanks especially to the families and friends of the victims who were able to join us as well our Mayor Carmelo Pesce , Sutherland Shire Councillors, our local Police, representatives of local schools, surf clubs and the chamber of commerce.
A special thanks to Deputy Mayor Carol Provan who was related to one of the young women who were killed who shared a tribute to the families, Father Frank from St Aloysius in Cronulla for leading prayers and Pastor Keren Batson from Horizon Church in Sutherland for her beautiful musical performance as we laid our floral tributes at the memorial.
