A few months ago I met Jamie and Emma who live at Sylvanvale’s Hinkler supported independent living site in Caringbah. Through the Stronger Commmunities Programme we were able to help them with a new sensory room and activity spaces. During my visit, I asked Jamie if he’d like to come down and meet the Cronulla Sharks. He was keen and so was his friend Emma.
Today, with the kind support of everyone at the Club we made it happen (thanks again Dino and Fitzy). Jamie and Emma were stoked. Gal, Jason Stevens and David Peachey were also there. Everyone gave Jamie and Emma and their carers, including Jamie’s parents, a great welcome and were really generous with their time, especially before tomorrow’s big game.
The Sharks showed once again they were winners on and off the field, while Jamie and Emma showed them what real courage is all about. A great day. We will all be cheering you on against the Broncos tomorrow night. #upupcronulla
