Home Builder Grants

Boosting home construction to create jobs and grow our economy

The Government is supporting local jobs in the residential construction sector with the introduction of the new HomeBuilder grant which will run until 31 December 2020.

Eligible owner-occupiers, not just first home buyers, can apply for a one-off grant of $25,000 to build a new home or substantially renovate an existing home.

The grant will be available for building new homes up to a value of $750,000 or substantial renovation projects worth between $150,000 and $750,000.

HomeBuilder will help boost jobs in the construction sector while also making it more affordable for families to build or renovate their dream home.

This year, the Government delivered the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme to help eligible first home buyers to purchase their first home with a deposit of as little as 5 per cent, allowing them to get into the market sooner.

HomeBuilder is the next step in our plan to increase home ownership and help you and your family get ahead.
