Staff and students at Cronulla South Public School and the Mayor, Cr Carmelo Pesce ahead of the National Day of Mourning to mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second in paying tribute to her incredible reign.
Along with the school’s Principal Dr Neil Lavitt and the student leadership team, Councillors and I planted a native Grey Gum tree in honour of the Queen as part of the nationwide ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee’ program.
Thank you to all the 300 staff and students who hosted us, each of whom goes home today with their own native seedling to plant at home. I hope to see plenty of strong, healthy trees dotting the landscape in years to come as a result of your efforts!
